We empower and support schools in leading collaborative improvement efforts that result in equitable, sustainable, and high-quality opportunities for all students. We provide tailored resources and support to schools who are identified as high-priority, on the State Accountability Clock, or are engaging in a community-driven design process.
After reviewing data and selecting high-priority schools, we support school leaders in building connections to expertise and resources so that they can easily navigate and access district support.
In addition, we conduct school site visits, assist leaders in creating action plans and we support schools in securing grant funding.
We offer school leaders technical support and coaching so that they can engage in school improvement strategies and are supported through the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) State Accountability Clock process.
Our DPS Leadership Team supports our schools on the State Accountability Clock through a process called the Data MINE, which stands for Monitoring Improvement and Navigating Excellence. We’re committed to helping these schools track their progress and strive for excellence.
We guide and support school leaders through the process of partnering with their communities to envision their hopes and dreams for the school. We then support school leaders in creating the structures needed for their school to become a place of equity and excellence for all students, staff, and families.
The School Improvement Team is proud to spotlight our schools receiving Tiered Support for their academic achievement and growth on recent state assessments. In the 2023-24 school year, we celebrated the success of 15 of our Tiered Schools exiting the State Accountability Clock. Our team collaborates closely with school leaders and principal supervisors to support Tiered Schools identified for improvement by the State. Together, we align our efforts with each school’s major improvement strategies and coordinate support and resources from the district, ensuring that school leaders can focus their time and energy on making positive changes. Below are three success stories we want to highlight in particular with the wider community:
