Save the date! The DPS SchoolChoice Round 1 open enrollment window for the 2026-27 school year opens at 10 a.m. on Dec. 2, 2025 and runs through Jan. 20, 2026 at 4 p.m.
SchoolChoice is for any student who wants or needs to attend a new school for the following school year, particularly “transitioning” students (incoming kinder, sixth- and ninth-grade students). All incoming ECE-3 students, as well as incoming students who reside in an enrollment zone, must complete a SchoolChoice application.
Here’s how it works:
EXPLORE your DPS school options. Use the mobile-friendly School Finder and contact schools directly to learn more about their programs and culture or to schedule a tour.
APPLY anytime between 10 a.m. Dec. 2, 2025 and 4 p.m. Jan. 20, 2026 by ranking your preferred schools using the online SchoolChoice application. Create an account or use your Parent Portal username and password to log in.
Get your school placement results in late February and THRIVE at your school next fall.

A note about the Early Childhood Education (ECE) process: ECE students must participate in SchoolChoice on a yearly basis and enrollment in a preschool program is not guaranteed. Incoming ECE-4 students must also complete the Colorado Universal Preschool application.
